These crayons lay down like silk and I achieved a lovely, smoothe blended effect as a background, lightly applied. Sadly, both the orange and the light green snapped easily within a couple of applications, despite my soft-touch care. This dramatically cuts down the usable part of the crayon. They are small, which suits small hands, but with two halves of crayon, not so much is available. A pleasing product overall. Glad I tried it.

I love my new Bambino crayons. I ordered them in the US, on Joanna Basford’s recommendation, and they arrived from the UK in just a few days. I’ve been a confirmed colored pencil colorist for years, alternating between Prismacolor and Polychromos, but these crayons are so rich in pigment they are a joy to use. They are much harder than a Crayola, hold a point very well, and blend beautifully. The 24 color range is very good. I could not go a full 5 stars because I found a couple of the blues to be scratchy, instead of the lovely creamy texture the other crayons had. My only other problem was the crayons small size. They are shorter and smaller in diameter than a Crayola, and I found my hand getting tired before I was ready to quit. An extender helps, but it’s a nuisance to change colors. I would be happy to pay a little more if the company could manufacture a full size crayon of this same quality. Meanwhile, I will enjoy using them as they are and happily recommend them.

I first saw these crayons on a video that Johanna Basford did. The results seemed great, so I decided to try them. I am really enjoying colouring with them. They are not at all like wax crayons, but the result is more like colouring with coloured pencils – just faster. They are tiny though – much thinner than a pencil and 8cm in length – so it isn’t comfortable for adult hands. It is a nice diversion from the norm though and I can see that I will occasionally pick these in stead of my colouring pencils.

However don’t get excited about the silver and gold, the wrappers are shiny, and if you use on black paper a little shiny, but to be honest on white paper you have to use your imagination. I’d rather have had a couple extra greens to be honest , although children may appreciate them more due to the novelty shiny wrappers.

Very pleased with my Bambino Crayons. They arrived promptly and well packaged. I bought them as I do a lot of adult colouring and was intrigued to see how different they are from standard wax crayons and I think they are great. They are more like a soft pencil than a crayon and the colours are very strong. Would recommend for children and adults interested in trying a different medium. Plus, the price is very reasonable 👍

The crayons arrived promptly and are a lovely selection of colours and much brighter and easier to use than similar crayons made of wax rather than clay.
I found it best to use the side of the crayon point rather than pressing too hard on the actual point, which can crumble a little if you press too hard. I think my grandchildren will enjoy using them.
