When Kat at Bambino emailed to ask if she could send me a pack of these crayons, I was curious! CLAY crayons? I thought why not?!
GOOD DECISION!
The vibrant finish colour lays down smooth and silky, not like those bumpy wax crayons we all used as kids. Great for large areas, can be blended, layered… they are more like woodless pencils than crayons. I’ve used there lots in my recent Facebook live tutorials. If you are looking for some new supplies to add to your stash, there are well worth a peek!
What is special about Bambino crayons?
– Our clay crayons are vibrant, smooth to use and have attractive animals on the wrapper. They are made of clay instead of wax which gives them a saturated and bright finish.
What are Bambino crayons made from?
– Our crayons are made with clay and pigments rather than wax which makes them blend smoothly.
Where did Bambino crayons come from?
– Bambino Crayons and Pencils were first invented in 1889 by Stanisław Majewski. His Pencils collection was awarded gold at Paris Exhibition in 1937.

What size packs are Bambino crayons available in?
– Here at Bambino we offer a wide range of sizes to suit your needs, we sell our crayons in standard packs of 12,18 & 24 along with our 24 limited edition pack and pack of 12 Jumbo crayons.
What is the difference between the limited edition pack and the standard pack?
– Our limited edition 24 pack contains a gold and silver crayon which replaces 2 shades of brown and orange from the 24 standard pack. The Gold and Silver crayons are beautiful and you won’t be disappointed!
Are Bambino crayons just for children?
– Absolutely not! Our crayons can be enjoyed by artists big and small, in fact our crayons have recently been reviewed and loved by artist Johanna Basford!
Are Bambino crayons suitable for children of all ages?
– Yes, our crayons are non toxic and safe for children of all ages, as always we highly recommend adult supervision with children under 3 years old using our crayons.
Can Bambino crayons be sharpened?
– Yes, our crayons can be sharpened with any standard pencil sharpener, here at bambino we find metal or electric sharpeners work best.
Are Bambino crayons available to purchase outside of the UK?
– Yes, while our crayons are only available in the UK right now, we do offer international shipping from our website. We are working hard to get Bambino crayons available across Europe soon.
How long does it take for orders to be shipped?
– We aim to dispatch all orders placed before 1pm the same day, however at busier times dispatch time could take a little longer, your order will always be dispatched within 2 working days.
When will my order be delivered?
– All our orders are dispatched via Royal Mail 1st class (Royal Mail tracked 48 for larger parcels) Royal Mail aim to deliver within 1-2 working days however at busier times delivery can take up to 6 working days, however this is very rare. If your order still hasn’t arrived after 3 days of being dispatched from our warehouse please contact us at support@bambinocrayons.com and our customer support team can help investigate the location of your parcel.

Wow. These are brilliant. I’m an adult colourist and was a little sceptical but for the price I thought I’d give them a go. I was expecting to keep the book and give the crayons to my friends child. But happy to day I’m keeping them. They blend so well and are completely different to usual wax crayons. Make a nice change from pencils and pens. Think these will be great for backgrounds too.
